The project, whose holder is the Croatian Hunting Federation and the partner the Pisarovina Municipality, aims at raising the awareness of the importance of participation of young people and decision makers in the structured dialogue process, thereby increasing the number of young people and decision makers involved in the structured dialogue process on the local and national level. It also wants to encourage young people and decision makers to communicate and co-operate as well as to motivate young people and decision makers from rural areas to network with other rural areas in Croatia, which is an important message of unity with the same goals.

This project directly relates to young people in rural environments, such as Pisarovina, and is seeking to improve the quality of life, sustainable management of the environment, training and strengthening cohesion on common goals through advising young people.

The educational lecture "Traffic and game" will be held on the open stage of the pavilion 7.

EDUCATIONAL ZOOLOGICAL GARDEN

Today, when the number of inhabitants living in cities is increasing excessively, it is a great privilege to have nature as a part of the city but also a large responsibility to protect nature for future generations. Preserving biodiversity in large cities is of great importance for the protection of nature and the improvement of the quality of life of the city population.

Despite great advances in knowledge and awareness of nature conservation, many people still have prejudices about wildlife, especially about snakes. Snakes should not be feared, but respected because of their important role in maintaining the natural balance.

The Zoological Garden of Zagreb will present to the visitors of the Hunting and Fishing Days the most common types of snakes living in Zagreb and its surrounding areas, such as the nose-horned viper (Vipera ammodytes), the European Adder (Vipera berus), the smooth snake (Coronella austriaca), the Aesculapian snake (Zamenis longissimus) and the grass snake (Natrix natrix). Apart from snakes the exhibition will also feature the European green lizard (Lacerta viridis) and the European pond turtle (Emys orbicularis).

Beside snakes, representatives of many other animal species can be encountered in cities. The educators will provide visitors with more information on them. Visitor education aims at supplementing the existing knowledge, eliminating prejudices and raising the awareness of the importance of coexistence with wild species in urban environments.
