INTERLIBER - THE SAFEST SHOPPING DESTINATION IN THE CITY

The national literary event INTERLIBER, the 43rd International Book Fair, will finally take place from 9 - 14 November 2021 to the great contentment of all lovers of the written word.

Zagreb Fair will reunite with publishers and booksellers and put Interliber on stage of the most important cultural events this autumn.

Faced with various challenges over the past year, we all need a break, and the book provides the best stress-relief therapy, the importance of which was recognized by the Government of the Republic of Croatia that has declared 2021 the Year of Reading.

Together with exhibitors and visitors, cultural content and educational programmes INTERLIBER greatly contributes to the development of reading culture. As the largest literary event in Croatia, Interliber has positioned itself as a national platform for freedom of expression through the written word and dialogue of the domestic and international literary scene.

Interliber will be held under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia and the City of Zagreb.

Pavilions 5, 6 and 7a will be covered by more than 230 exhibitors from 14 countries (Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, France, Croatia, Italy, Netherlands, Germany, Poland, USA, Slovenia, Serbia, Spain, UK).

WHAT HAVE THE PUBLISHERS PREPARED?

ZNANJE - for this year's Interliber they have prepared the following new titles: Charlotte McConaghy's novel: The Last Migration that makes us think about the near future, in which climate changes are changing both us and the world we are used to living in; then the latest SF horror thriller by Stephen King: The Institute; two bestsellers by Joanna Harris: Chocolat and the Strawberry Thief; the new hit by Kristin Hannah: The Four Winds; the psychological thriller by Helen Flood: The Therapist, the timeless classic by Edith Wharton: The Age of Innocence and the Fifth Season by N.K.Jemisin.

Among the journalistic titles, there is the untold story of the greatest nuclear catastrophe in history by Adam Higginbotham: Midnight in Chernobyl, and the story by Tim Marshall: Divided, about a globalized world in which states are building some new walls.

From children's books titles, in the redesigned edition of the STRIBOR library you will find the following classics of world and Croatian children's literature: Antoine de Saint-Exupéry: The Little Prince, Rudyard Kipling: The Jungle Book, Ivana Brlić Mažuranić: The Marvelous Adventures of Hlapić the Apprentice, Ratko Zvrko: Grga Čvarak.

BOOKS FOR EVERYONE AND EVERYWHERE

The Association of Publishers and Booksellers at the Croatian Chamber of Economy, through its project Books for Everyone and Everywhere, which takes place in the same week, participates in the promotion and availability of books and reading. On the website Books for Everyone and Everywhere, all book fans will be able to find interesting titles at discounts ranging from 20 to 70 percent. The titles will be offered by about 100 publishers and booksellers throughout Croatia, and depending on preferences, they will be available for purchase online or at points of sale.

The official opening of the fair will take place on 9 November 2021 at 11:00 h in the pavilion 5.

Parking for all visitors of Interliber around Zagreb Fair venue is free.

INTERLIBER ADMISSION PROTOCOL

Entrance to the fair is free and possible only against presentation of valid Covid certificates; vaccination certificate, certificate of recovery (within 6 months) or a valid negative test (PCR up to 72 hours, rapid antigen up to 48 hours).

Admission to the fair will proceed as follows: at ticket offices (South Gate Zagreb Fair) against presentation of a valid Covid certificate, visitors will get a single-use wristband and the admission ticket to the fair to be used for passing the mechanical barrier, the so called turnstiles and to enter to the venue.

In front of each pavilion (5, 6 and 7a) there will be displays showing the current number of people in the pavilion and if the maximum allowed number of visitors is exceeded, the admission will be temporary discontinued. Moreover, contactless temperature measurement devices will be installed. Masks are mandatory.

Visitors and other participants, who do not have the Covid certificate, will be able to take a rapid test at the testing point in front of the Main Gate South of Zagreb Fair during Interliber (from 9 - 14 November 2021). The price of the rapid antigen test is HRK 50,00.
