The April wave of intense events at the Zagreb Fair is marked by a series of projects held so far: Zagreb Crafts Fair; Smart Cities - 5th Conference: Smart Solutions for Sustainable Cities and Interklima - 25th International Conference on Heating, Cooling and Air Conditioning.

A natural extension to April events are biennial fairs with a compatible programme, grouped within the same term from 24 - 27 April under the joint name "SPRING FAIRS OF THE ZAGREB FAIR”:

  • Building – 41st International Fair of Construction and Equipping
  • Interklima – 25th International Fair of HVAC Technology, Drinking Water Treatment and Renewable Energy
  • EMAT – 10th International Environmental Protection and Municipal Equipment Fair
  • Interprotex – 13th International Fair for the Protection of People and Assets

The exhibition and programme content of the fairs focuses on planning, designing, building, reconstructing and equipping of facilities in an energy efficient and environmentally friendly way, including the constant need to protect people, assets and data. The interest of both trade visitors and exhibitors to participate in this group of trade fairs is increasing year by year.

This year's edition of the fairs will present innovations and new technologies in construction, heating, air conditioning, energy use, waste management and insurance and protection, which directly affect the development, modernization and competitiveness of related activities, and increase the demand of business entities and end users.

The exhibition segment will gather leading exhibitors of individual industries and will be accompanied by a rich conference programme primarily aimed at meeting local and foreign business people of the mentioned professions as well as representatives of the scientific community and institutions.

132 exhibitors from 20 countries will be presented at 12,000 m2, in pavilions 8a (Building, Interklima), 9 (Emat) and 11a (Interprotex).

Innovative technology solutions

BUILDING will feature exhibitors of energy efficient building materials and the equipment, technical and technological solutions designed to increase the energy efficiency of buildings in all phases of service life. The exhibition segment of the fair will be accompanied by a programme of professional gatherings. Main exhibitors: China JC Expo, Inotherm, Internorm.

INTERKLIMA is a biennial fair with a long tradition and successful organization. It is the leading regional fair of the equipment for heating, cooling, air conditioning, drinking water treatment and renewable energy as well as an unavoidable event in the business calendar of Croatian and international manufacturers. Main exhibitors: Tvornica turbina Karlovac, Tehnodom, Nika Konstrukcije, Atmos, Harreither, Metal As, Mimeks trade.

EMAT will contribute to the efforts of the Croatian economy in supporting and encouraging the processes aimed at sustainable development with its programme and exhibition segments. It offers the opportunity of getting acquainted with and presenting new technologies for sustainable development and of exchanging expert and scientific experience in the field of pollution prevention, utility management, urban planning, protection of the environment and life. Main exhibitors: Tehnix, KOVA, MAN Importer Croatia, STP, Hongoldonia.

Continuing the long-standing tradition of a highly specialized biennial fair on the topic of protection in our country and the regional leader among safety-security fairs, INTERPROTEX will again bring together under a single roof various segments of this economic branch. To participate in this fair for Croatian producers it means to enable faster creation of their brands and to confirm their presence at the market, which contributes to the increase of international competitiveness. Interprotex will bring together various segments of this economic branch aiming to showcase the latest achievements and application of modern technology. Main exhibitors: Ziegler, Flammifer, HS Produkt and Vatropromet.

We expect special interest of trade visitors, not only from Croatia but also from the neighbouring countries. With this business networking we intend to initiate mutual business cooperation and have a positive influence on the business activity in the industry sector.

The Spring Fairs will be supported by the Ministry of Environment and Energy and the City of Zagreb.

Professional and accompanying programme and attractions

On the first day of the fair, 24 April at 12.00h, the Cres Hall will host the workshop called "Challenges and possibilities of eco-construction in SE Europe" organized by the Croatian Wood Cluster. The workshop will strive to give answers to the following questions:

  • What is the relationship between hemp and construction?
  • How to stimulate construction of passive facilities?
  • Can eco-construction meet the aesthetic criteria of the 21st century architecture?
  • What is the role of clusters in circular construction?
  • How to fight prejudice towards eco-construction?
  • Why is it important to have a biogas management strategy to promote eco-construction? 

The Croatian Mountain Rescue Service will present its activities on a daily basis through lectures, the Croatian Firefighting Association will perform fire-fighting exercises with SAR dogs and traffic accident rescue exercises. The Croatian Military Police will also perform demo exercises.

On Saturday, 27 April the Croatian Mountain Rescue Service will demonstrate an injured people evacuation in a natural disaster (earthquake) simulation with assistance of SAR dogs and handlers. The Croatian Firefighting Association will hold workshops for children and gathering with firefighters.

The fairs will be officially inaugurated by Mr. Milan Bandić, Mayor of the City of Zagreb in the pavilion 11A on Wednesday, 24 April at 11,00.

Admission for visitors is FREE.
Croatian Railways Passenger Transport will grant visitors from Croatia and Slovenia 40% discount to the return ticket price.
