HUNTING AND FISHING DAYS 2023 - THE INTERNATIONAL HUNTING AND FISHING EQUIPMENT FAIR
After two years, the 5th HUNTING AND FISHING DAYS - the International Hunting and Fishing Equipment Fair - will be held again from 22 - 26 February 2023 at Zagreb Fair.

HUNTING AND FISHING DAYS are held under the auspices of the City of Zagreb and the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Croatia and in cooperation with permanent partners - the Croatian Hunting Association and the Croatian Sports Fishing Association, with whom we prepare a number of quality professional gatherings on the current issues in the field of hunting and fishing.

The objective of the fair is to promote and develop the hunting and fishing tourism, to present new products and equipment to distributors, hunters and fishermen as well as to emphasize the possibility of developing hunting tourism in the continental area of Croatia in harmony with nature. In this context, in addition to the exhibition segment, the content of this event includes an educational and professional programme that wants to emphasize the potentials and direct importance of hunting in preserving and maintenance of nature - trends and legal provisions in order to protect game and fish and their natural habitats.

The Hunting and Fishing Days will be held in the pavilion 8 of Zagreb Fair.

This fair is an unavoidable annual meeting place for numerous hunters, fishermen, producers, traders and associations in this part of Europe.

Manufacturers and representatives of renowned world brands of hunting weapons, clothing and footwear, optics, fishing equipment and accessories for hunting and fishing will take part in the fair. For manufacturers the participation in the fair means a contribution to a faster creation of their brands as well as confirmation of their presence at the market, which contributes to the increase of international competitiveness.

ATTRACTIONS FOR VISITORS

A rich and especially interesting accompanying programme is organized for all visitors at the Hunting and Fishing Days.

The Croatian Hunting Association prepares the Hunting Gastro Show (cooking of game meat goulash and fish stew), and the Hunting Museum of the Croatian Hunting Association organizes Diorama, an exhibition of stuffed wild animals.

There will also be a hunting dog show and the performance of hunting horn players and choirs.

At the stand of the Croatian Shooting Association and the Zagreb Archery Association all interested visitors will be able to try shooting with air guns, lasers and bow and arrow.

As part of the professional programme, we wish to highlight the following lectures: "The Impact of Climate Change on Harmful Factors in Forests", "Natura 2000 and Forestry - Transfer Of Knowledge And Good Practices" (implementation of conservation measures of the Natura 2000 ecological network), "The Latest Insights into the life of Lynx in Croatia" and "Freshwater Fishery in the Republic of Croatia".

EDUCATIONAL ZOO

In order to encourage citizens to have more respect and less fear of the animal world, the Zoo will set up terrariums at the fair with snakes that live in Zagreb and its surroundings. These are the nose-horned viper (Vipera ammodytes), the European Adder (Vipera berus), the smooth snake (Coronella austriaca), the Aesculapian snake (Zamenis longissimus) and the grass snake (Natrix natrix).

The educators will tell visitors what to do when they encounter snakes in the city or in nature.

The Zagreb City Zoo is involved in animal protection projects on a global level, but it makes a particularly large contribution at the local level. In cooperation with other institutions, it researches endangered animal species and makes discoveries that will help protecting them in the long term.

The wild animal recovery center also modestly does its work 365 days a year. Thanks to the center, numerous animals were successfully recovered. Among them, the most famous are the bear Matija, the lynx Martin and the beaver Štefek.
