REGIONAL CENTER OF INDUSTRIAL EXCELLENCE: BIAM AND WELDING 2026 POWERED BY LORSEL GROUP

The biennial business fairs BIAM - the 28th International Machine Tool and Tools Fair and WELDING - the 31st International Welding and Anticorrosion Fair will take place at Zagreb Fair from 14 - 17 April 2026.

BIAM and WELDING are the only specialized industrial fairs of this kind in Croatia and serve as a regional reference point for the metal processing and welding industries. Through decades of continuous organization, they have built an ecosystem that brings together manufacturers, distributors, experts and decision-makers, from Croatian industry leaders to international exhibitors and buyers, all in one place at the same time. This concentration of industry professionals and proven B2B impact makes these fairs an indispensable business platform for the entire region.

This year’s edition is supported by the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Croatia, the Ministry of Science, Education and Youth of the Republic of Croatia, the City of Zagreb and the Croatian Chamber of Trades and Crafts.

The event takes place across four pavilions of Zagreb Fair (8, 8A, 9 and 11A), covering 11,000 m² of exhibition space altogether.

A total of 300 exhibitors from 28 countries are participating, including Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Croatia, Italy, Israel, Japan, China, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Portugal, USA, North Macedonia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey, Uzbekistan and UK.

An Overview of Technologies Shaping Modern Manufacturing

Visitors to the BIAM and WELDING Fairs will gain insight into the solutions currently driving the development of modern industry. The exhibition programme covers a wide range of technologies: from next-generation machine tools, lasers and robotics to the digitalization of production processes, automation and advanced welding and quality control systems.

The unique value of these trade fairs lies in the live demonstrations of machines and systems. Direct insight into technology in real working conditions, combined with the opportunity to exchange expertise with exhibitors’ technical teams, is often a decisive factor in making sound business and investment decisions.

Among the prominent exhibitors are leading names from the industrial sector such as Trumpf, Strojotehnika, Čelada, Južni prolaz, Lorsel, Laser Solution, Rotometal Grupa, Metal Kovis, Tehno Filter, Pfeifer, Eurotehnika and Okret. The combination of internationally recognized brands and domestic companies provides visitors with a unique insight into global trends tailored to the regional market. The organization of these specialized trade fairs further confirms Zagreb’s role as a regional hub for industry and technology. By assembling experts, institutions and companies, BIAM and WELDING serve as an important driver of knowledge exchange, the development of new projects and the strengthening of the overall competitiveness of the economy.

KORMAT and WELDING COORDINATORS

We wish to highlight the traditional KORMAT - the 27th International Symposium on Material Protection and Industrial Finishing, organized by the Croatian Society for Material Protection, taking place on 16 April.

The objective of the Symposium is to present contemporary achievements in the field of protection against corrosion of construction materials, application of corrosion inhibitors, coating methods, prevention of corrosion in concrete, cathodic protection, technical regulations and corrosion tests. Experts in the sector will be able to improve their knowledge on construction materials and modern methods of protection against corrosion.

The Croatian Association for Welding Technology, in cooperation with the Chair of Welded Structures at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture, will organize the Welding Coordinators seminar on 14 April in the Congress Hall.

The most important factor in ensuring the quality of welding work is well-trained and continuously educated personnel responsible for welding coordination. Welding coordination is a demanding profession and the experts performing it must be familiar with the latest developments in the field. In collaboration with the Chair of Welded Structures at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture, the Croatian Association for Welding Technology organizes an annual gathering of welding specialists to acquaint them with the latest welding industry standards and advancements, exchange experience with colleagues and obtain the necessary credits for the International Authorization Board certification.

The Croatian Association for Welding Technology will also present its monograph marking 70 years of activity.
