After four days the biennial business fairs BIAM - the 27th International Machine Tool and Tools Fair and WELDING - the 30th International Welding and Anticorrosion Fair, the only industrial fairs in the country, were successfully closed.

The main sponsor of the Biam Fair was LORSEL GROUP and of Welding Fair ELEKTRODA ZAGREB d.d.
 
The fairs were supported by the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of the Republic of Croatia, Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Croatia, City of Zagreb, Chamber of Trades and Crafts Zagreb.
 
The fairs were held in four pavilions with participation of 349 exhibitors from 28 countries.
 
The interest of both trade visitors and exhibitors to participate in this group of trade fairs grows year after year. In addition to daily presentations of exhibitors, the Biam and Welding Fairs were also successful in the segment of trade visits.
 
The special feature of this year's edition of the fair was the Industrial incubator. For the first time, Zagreb Fair brought together the academic community and employers under the same roof. The industrial incubator was created with the intention of gathering and promoting vocational occupations as well as presenting regional centers of competence aimed at transferring knowledge and popularizing these occupations and improving relations between employers and the academic community.
 
From the professional events, we wish to highlight the traditional KORMAT, the International Symposium on Material Protection and Industrial Finishing organized by the Croatian Society for Material Protection and the important seminar for the branch titled Welding Coordinators organized by the Croatian Association for Welding Technology, in cooperation with the Chair of Welded Structures at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture and Zagreb Fair.

The fairs were inaugurated by the Mayor of the City of Zagreb, Tomislav Tomašević, who said: "Owing to such fairs, both the city of Zagreb and Zagreb Fair have been recognized as a meeting point for all those striving for excellence in this industry. These are the only industrial fairs in Croatia. What makes me content is the constant growth of exhibitor numbers that can be observed at these two fairs from year to year. It is just an indication that we are doing something right. Also I am very glad about the Industrial incubator, where the employers and the academic community can meet."

That is why we are investing our best efforts into these fairs, and as a result, this year's edition is the largest in the last 20 years," said Renata Suša, Zagreb Fair Director, at the official opening of the fairs.
