Leading Conferences and a Professional Programme

This year’s Ambienta features an exceptionally rich professional programme, where leading experts will share their knowledge and experience, offering practical solutions and real-world examples. Among the many lectures and panels, we wish to highlight two conferences: "Construction and Investments 2025”, "I Want a Lift!" and the round table discussion on the topic “Why are the Registers of Co-Owners' Communities and Managers Extremely Important to Co-Owners? “.

The conference “Construction and Investments 2025” organized by Zagreb Fair will gather key stakeholders from the construction sector to open a dialogue about the future of the industry.

Discussions will focus on urgent issues such as the rising costs and workforce shortage. In today’s rapidly changing and challenging environment, the conference will host key speakers from the construction industry, investment sector and academic community, with the aim of initiating game-changing discussions.

Among the speakers participating in the conference are: Hrvoje Stojić, Croatian Employers’ Association, Luka Korlaet, Deputy Mayor of the City of Zagreb,  Ivan Barukčić, MADO Group, Vedran Orešić, Center for Digital Built Croatia, Anđelka Toto Ormuž, Rockwool Adriatic, Mladen Ilijević, 1naprema1, Miroslav Bakšaj, MDK Građevinar, Danijel Meliš, System3E Croatia&Western Region,  Donka Würth, Polytechnic of Zagreb, Tomislav Ilić, Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund, Assoc. Prof. Bojan Milovanović, PhD, Faculty of Civil Engineering in Zagreb and others. The main panel topics will include risk management in a changing environment, a new construction paradigm: people, knowledge and technology as well as the next-generation construction materials.

Participation in the conference is free, but with mandatory prior registration. Sponsors of the conference, Baumit, MDK Građevinar and Rockwool, have already secured their leading positions in addressing current sector challenges. Representatives from Baumit highlighted that their vision creates space for better living through innovation, with a mission to simplify construction by using high-quality materials, technology and sustainable solutions that combine automation and design. MDK Građevinar emphasized their specialization in modern and sustainable construction and waterproofing materials, providing clients with reliable solutions focused on employee expertise, process digitalization and long-term sustainable projects. Rockwool, as a global leader, underlined that they are redefining the future of buildings with stone wool solutions and products made from natural volcanic rock that are recyclable, thus contributing to energy efficiency, safety, comfort and addressing global challenges.
The conference "I Want a Lift!" jointly organized by Zagreb Fair and the ZGRADOnačelnik.hr portal is intended for co-owners, building managers, elevator installation and maintenance companies, designers and financial institutions, providing them with insights into the solutions and challenges related to elevator installation.

The panel discussion “Why are the Registers of Co-Owners' Communities and Managers Extremely Important to Co-Owners? “, organized by the ZGRADOnačelnik.hr portal, will be a platform to discuss why these registers are the foundation of the operational functioning of buildings, the role of co-owner representatives and co-owners in all key processes and to demonstrate what co-owners and their representatives can do to make this administratively challenging procedure faster, simpler and ultimately satisfactory for all stakeholders.

#StanZaSutra

For the first time at Ambienta #StanZaSutra will be showcased - an apartment fully furnished with sustainable furniture, appliances and décor.
Under the auspices of the City of Zagreb and in cooperation with the main partner JYSK, along with partners: Aid Furniture, Chromos Paints and Varnishes, Gorenje,  Feal,  Rockwool  and SG Forma, Zagreb Fair presents the project #StanzaSutra - a sustainable apartment of the future. It is a specially designed exhibition space located in pavilion 8A of the Ambienta Fair, showcasing how a home can be at the same time environmentally friendly, functional, affordable and aesthetically appealing.
The project goes a step further - after the fair, all the furniture and equipment from the apartment will be donated to a housing community for young people within the Semi-Independent Living Programme, specifically to one of the apartments provided by the City of Zagreb for use by SOS Children’s Villages Croatia. Bringing together sustainability and social solidarity makes this project unique and invites us all to reflect on a future where sharing becomes the foundation of progress.

Top Culinary Competitions

In cooperation with the Croatian Chefs Association, a top-quality programme will take place within the exhibition zone dedicated to hotel and restaurant equipment. This segment of the fair is aimed at professionals in tourism and hospitality and was developed in response to the growing market demand for modernization and the equipping of facilities, bringing together supply and demand in one place.

Exhibitors will present furniture, equipment, appliances, digital systems and ingredients, while the presence of industry leaders will enable networking and the creation of new business opportunities.

In addition to the rich exhibition segment, the programme includes culinary competitions and presentations aimed at promoting Croatian cuisine. One of the highlights is the collaboration with the prestigious global organization WORLDCHEFS. The participation of this international umbrella organization for chefs confirms the high level of professionalism and importance of this event. National culinary teams from 19 countries are expected, with over 200 chefs and pastry chefs competing in various Worldchefs categories.

The Bocuse d'Or, known as the “Culinary Oscar”, the world’s most renowned and prestigious culinary competition, will be featured at Zagreb Fair together with a special showcase competition. The competition is named after Paul Bocuse, who was declared the best chef of the 20th century.

Several major culinary competitions will take place during the event, including the international Croatian Culinary Cup, the Kamelija Cup for hospitality school students, the National Culinary and Pastry Championship and the Heritage Barbecue Competition, where visitors will also have the opportunity to taste the dishes.

There will also be education and seminars led by top chefs. On 25 September, Chef Leopold Forsthofer will host a Pastry Arts seminar for those looking to stay up to date with the latest pastry trends. On 26 September, Chef Lee Corke, President and Member of the British Culinary Federation, will lead a Hot Kitchen Seminar. Inside the Metro Zone, a demonstration kitchen will be set up where chefs will cook daily and visitors will be able to enjoy live tastings.

Art at Ambienta

A new project within Ambienta, "Art Street", will present the diversity of artistic expressions through eight exhibitions in pavilion 7. Alongside the renowned artist Stephen Lupino, there will be solo exhibitions by Karina Sladović, Koraljka Beker, Jadranko Ferko and Mladen Legin. One group exhibition will feature original artworks by old Croatian masters, contemporary artists and promising young talents. A special exhibition will present the entire recent graphic production of the organizer.

Partner museums of this year’s Ambienta are Klovićevi Dvori Gallery, the Museum of Illusions, the Museum of Laughter and the Travel Experience Museum.

Klovićevi Dvori gallery presents the exhibition "mini Ambienta" by exhibitor Il Leor, thus combining Croatian design with the space of this important cultural institution.
