StanZaSutra (Apartment for Tommorow) 2026: Sustainability That Changes Lives

This year as well Ambienta continues its socially responsible project StanZaSutra. This initiative demonstrates that the strength of the profession lies not only in innovation and premium quality housing solutions, but also in the ability to direct knowledge, experience and resources toward the real needs of the community.

From the Fair Pavilion to a Real Home

The project marked last year’s fair as one of the most widely covered topics in the media.

In addition to capturing significant media attention, StanZaSutra attracted more than 10,000 visitors, who had the opportunity to explore sustainable furniture, equipment and energy-efficient solutions in a full-scale 88 m² apartment replica located at a pavilion of Zagreb Fair.

However, the value of the project extended beyond the exhibition space. What began as a showcase of contemporary and sustainable living, after the closing of Ambienta was transformed into tangible support: all furniture and equipment were relocated to an apartment in Novi Jelkovec, which became a warm and safe home for young people from the SOS Children’s Villages Croatia programme.

A Step Forward in 2026: More Than Just a Roof Over One’s Head

In 2026, the project develops further. With the support of partners, another apartment will be fully equipped, this time 101 m² in size. The City of Zagreb is making the apartment available to SOS Children’s Villages Croatia. The apartment is intended for young people transitioning to independent living after growing up in alternative care.

This year’s step forward refers both to a larger space and to a broader understanding of what a home truly means. Alongside a fully equipped “turnkey” apartment, young people will also receive a package of practical knowledge and skills to support everyday life and long-term independence.

Educational modules will include:

  • Financial literacy - basics of budgeting and managing living expenses
  • Household management - maintaining a living space and planning healthy, affordable meals

Visibility That Extends the Project’s Impact

This year the synergy of industry, architecture and social responsibility will be further supported by a dedicated StanZaSutra microsite. This will allow educational content on sustainability, as well as success stories of young residents, to gain additional visibility and reach, ensuring that the project continues to stay relevant long after the fair ends.

The project emphasizes that high-quality solutions, from thoughtful spatial planning to the selection of environmentally friendly furniture, can make a meaningful contribution to a more dignified, safer and better quality of life for those who need support the most.

Sustainability begins with caring for people!
