EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOP: “School in the Forest, Forest in the School” for schoolchildren, featuring Ozana Association.
The programme host is Tihana Pavelić and Veronika Špiljak will conduct the workshop.
Participants will create wooden coasters. The workshop aims at exploring the potential of wood-based materials for rehabilitation purposes as well as in everyday life through creativity, practical work and collaboration.

PANEL 1: Zagreb 2026: Designing Human-Centered Neighbourhood - Balance of Profit and Public Interest.                                                       
Discussion on a new era of urban planning in the capital city. The focus is on stricter requirements for green spaces, mandatory provision of social infrastructure (kindergartens and schools) along with residential developments and a systematic action against scattered illegal construction that undermines quality of life in neighbourhoods.

PANEL 2: ESG AND EU Taxonomy - Who Will Finance Brownfield Construction?
As of this year, the banking sector is rigorously applying sustainable finance rules. The panel will examine the impact of high environmental standards on interest rates and access to capital. The panel will address the risk of stranded assets (buildings losing value because they fail to meet green standards) and the costs of implementing certifications such as DGNB.

While construction technology continues to advance, obtaining permits in Croatia remains a lengthy process.                                                    
The panel will examine the efficiency of the e-permit system, the role of local authorities in delaying projects and legal uncertainties that deter investors.         
How can the process, from initial design to the occupancy permit, be fully digitized and paperless?

As the market becomes saturated with generic floor space, high-quality architecture is becoming a key differentiator. The panel explores the line between profitability and architectural integrity: Can “design surplus” justify a higher sales price? The discussion will address architectural competition practices in Croatia, the impact of visual identity on the tourism and business branding of cities and how to prevent the “apartmentization” of design in the pursuit of maximum building coverage ratios.
